In-person practical training · Joure · Dutch or English · personal guidance
Would you like to learn professional teeth whitening and perform the treatment yourself under direct personal guidance? During the X-treme Smile® In-Person Teeth Whitening Course in Joure, you will learn step by step how to prepare, perform, assess and complete a professional teeth whitening treatment responsibly.
You will learn not only what to do during a treatment, but also why. We combine basic dental knowledge with product knowledge, client assessment, treatment technique, safety, hygiene, result assessment and aftercare.
Practical training is an important part of the course. You bring your own suitable model and perform a teeth whitening treatment under supervision during the training day. This allows us to observe your technique directly, provide practical guidance and answer questions as they arise.
This course consists exclusively of the in-person training without a starter package. You therefore do not receive a professional whitening lamp, starter kit or stock of whitening products and treatment materials to take home.
The course takes place in our training facility in Joure, Friesland, the Netherlands and can be followed in Dutch or English. Our regular courses are deliberately kept small, with a maximum of 3 participants, allowing plenty of time for personal guidance and practical training.
With this product, you book only the In-Person Teeth Whitening Course in Joure.
A professional whitening lamp, starter package, stock of whitening products and treatment materials to take home are not included.
If you do not yet have professional equipment and treatment materials and would like to be fully equipped after the course, view our Teeth Whitening Courses including a starter package and whitening lamp.
With an in-person course, theory is directly connected to practical application. Instead of simply studying a treatment protocol, you perform the treatment yourself while we observe and guide you.
During the treatment, we can immediately see how you work, how you use the products and materials and how you position the whitening lamp. If something can be improved or adjusted, you receive practical feedback straight away.
Not every client, type of discolouration or dental situation is the same. During a live training session, you can discuss questions immediately and learn how to apply theoretical knowledge to situations you may encounter later in practice.
You bring your own suitable model. This allows you to perform a real treatment during the course and practise the different treatment steps under personal supervision.
Our regular in-person course is limited to a maximum of 3 participants. This ensures sufficient time for individual guidance, practical feedback and questions.
Applying whitening gel and positioning a lamp in front of the mouth is only a small part of professional teeth whitening. A responsible treatment begins before the first product is applied.
You need to be able to assess what you see, understand which factors can influence a whitening result, take existing restorations into account and recognise when a treatment should be adapted, postponed or not performed at all.
That is why the course focuses not only on performing the treatment itself, but also on the knowledge and professional decision-making that come before it.
A fixed treatment protocol provides structure, but every client is different. During the course, we explain why certain steps are important and which factors determine whether a treatment can be performed according to the standard protocol.
This helps you build knowledge that can also be applied when a real-life situation differs from the ideal example.
The course covers the full process of a professional cosmetic teeth whitening treatment: from initial assessment and preparation to treatment, result assessment and aftercare.
A good treatment starts with the right questions. You will learn which information is relevant, which points should be discussed beforehand and how to manage client expectations realistically.
You will learn to look more carefully at the teeth, tooth shade, restorations and visible abnormalities before deciding how a treatment should be performed.
Not every type of discolouration develops in the same way and not every type responds equally to whitening. You will learn to recognise relevant differences and take them into account when assessing a client.
Professional practice also means recognising when not to treat, when to adapt a treatment and when a client should first be advised to consult a dentist or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Composite, crowns, veneers, fillings and other restorative materials respond differently to whitening products than natural tooth tissue.
During the course, you learn how to recognise these situations and discuss them beforehand so you can provide realistic expectations about the possible colour result.
During the training day, you apply the theory to your own model. We go through the treatment step by step and guide your practical work while you perform it.
You conduct a consultation, discuss relevant points of attention and determine the starting shade with a professional shade guide.
You prepare the treatment area, materials and model safely and hygienically.
You learn how the whitening products are prepared, applied and monitored correctly during treatment.
You practise setting up and positioning the whitening lamp correctly and learn why distance, angle and light intensity form part of the treatment protocol.
You work through the different treatment rounds and learn what to monitor between rounds and when a treatment should be adapted.
You compare the final result with the starting situation and learn how to advise the client about aftercare, sensitivity, maintenance and any future treatment.
For the practical part of the in-person course, you need to bring your own suitable model to Joure.
You perform the practical treatment steps on this model during the training day. This allows us to assess your technique directly and provide personal guidance throughout the treatment.
X-treme Smile® has been active in professional teeth whitening, professional whitening equipment and the training and support of professionals since 2010.
Our courses also build on dental knowledge and backgrounds in areas including dental assisting, dental technology and dental hygiene.
Our team brings together more than 65 years of combined dental experience. We use that background to go beyond simply teaching the technical steps of a whitening treatment.
For many years, we have worked daily with professional whitening products, whitening equipment, treatment protocols and practical questions from professionals.
Our background helps us connect treatment technique with anatomy, restorations, safety, client assessment and professional decision-making.

An X-treme Smile® Teeth Whitening Course consists of more than theory alone. Practical performance is also an important part of successfully completing the training.
During the in-person course, we assess your practical work while you perform the treatment on your own model.
We assess areas including preparation, hygiene, client consultation, use of products and materials, positioning of the whitening lamp, treatment sequence, execution of the treatment rounds, monitoring and completion of the treatment.
If any aspect still needs improvement, you receive feedback explaining what can be adjusted.
After successfully completing the required theoretical and practical components, you receive your personal X-treme Smile® certificate.
The certificate confirms that you have completed the X-treme Smile® Teeth Whitening Course and successfully completed the associated theoretical and practical components.
The X-treme Smile® certificate is a training certificate. It does not automatically determine which products you are professionally permitted to use. Legislation, regulations and product requirements may differ by country and situation.
If part of your practical work is not yet performed to the required standard, we explain what needs improvement.
You can then continue practising and demonstrate again that you have mastered the relevant treatment method. The certificate is issued after the required theoretical and practical components have been successfully completed.
Many practical questions only arise once you begin treating clients independently after the course. That is why you can continue to contact X-treme Smile® with professional questions after receiving your certificate.
After successfully completing the course, you receive a 10% purchasing discount on eligible professional X-treme Smile® products.
Products subject to different conditions are excluded from this discount.
