You do not only learn which steps to follow, but above all why those steps matter. The course covers tooth shade and discolouration, client selection, whitening products, treatment principles, whitening lamps, hygiene, safety, result assessment, aftercare and professional boundaries.
Your practical work is assessed on the online course too
At X-treme Smile®, a Teeth Whitening Course is not simply a matter of watching theory lessons. If you follow the course online, you complete the required practical elements on your own suitable model and submit clear visual material or a practical video for assessment.
You can send your material via WhatsApp or WeTransfer. If an element is not yet sufficient, you receive feedback and can repeat that part. Your certificate is issued after successful completion of the required theory and practical elements.

The course combines professional knowledge with demonstration, practical application and assessment. The exact format differs between online and live training, but both routes lead towards successful completion of the required theory and practical elements.

Online course or live training in Joure
Choose the learning format that best suits you. You can follow the course online through the digital X-treme Smile® Academy or attend a small, practical live training session in our training room in Joure, the Netherlands.
Small groups and a practical approach
During live training, you perform the whitening treatment step by step on your own model. Because we keep the groups small, there is room to discuss questions immediately and receive practical feedback while you are carrying out the treatment.
Both the online and live routes lead to the same X-treme Smile® certification after successful completion of the required elements.

The practical component is an important part of the X-treme Smile® Teeth Whitening Course. Theory alone does not show how you apply consultation, preparation, product use, treatment technique and result assessment yourself.
Your practical work is therefore assessed in a way that matches your chosen learning format. During live training this takes place while you are working; on the online course you submit the required practical elements through visual material or video.

The certificate demonstrates that you have completed the X-treme Smile® Teeth Whitening Course and successfully completed the required theory and practical elements.
The certificate is an X-treme Smile® training certificate. Laws and regulations, professional requirements, product restrictions and insurance conditions may differ by country and situation. Always check the rules that apply where you intend to work professionally.
Learn teeth whitening from a dental knowledge base
At X-treme Smile®, you do not simply learn to copy a treatment. We believe it is important that you understand what you are doing, why you are doing it and when a treatment should not be carried out.
We therefore combine hands-on experience in professional teeth whitening with basic dental knowledge, knowledge of whitening products, equipment and treatment protocols. This helps you make informed choices in different practical situations rather than relying on one fixed routine.
Who is behind the course?
The X-treme Smile® courses are developed under the direction of Jitske Hoff, owner of X-treme Smile®, with a dental background as a dental assistant and many years of hands-on experience in professional teeth whitening and cosmetic treatments.
X-treme Smile® has trained and supported professionals since 2010. The course focuses not only on performing the technique, but also on understanding tooth shade, whitening products, treatment principles, safety and the boundaries of a cosmetic treatment.
Knowledge from several disciplines
The development and support of our courses combines dental knowledge with educational backgrounds including dental assisting, dental technology and dental hygiene, supplemented by practical experience with professional whitening products, equipment and treatment protocols.
Understand rather than copy
A clear protocol matters, but not every client or practical situation is the same. We therefore also explain why assessment, product use, treatment choices and result checks matter.
Recognising professional boundaries
Professional practice also means knowing when not to perform a treatment, when to postpone it or when to advise the client to seek an appropriate dental assessment first.

X-treme Smile® is registered with the Centraal Register Kort Beroepsonderwijs (CRKBO), the Dutch Central Register for Short Vocational Education. The training component of our vocational courses is therefore invoiced VAT exempt. The applicable VAT rate may still apply to products, materials or equipment.
CRKBO registration applies to the training provider. The X-treme Smile® certificate is therefore not a diploma issued by CRKBO.

Do I need a prior qualification for the Teeth Whitening Course?
No. No specific prior qualification is required for the basic course. The training starts with the relevant foundational knowledge and builds the treatment step by step.
Can I follow the Teeth Whitening Course online?
Yes. You can follow the course online through the X-treme Smile® Academy. You work through the theory and video lessons at your own pace and complete the required practical elements on your own suitable model.
How is my practical work assessed if I follow the course online?
You submit the required practical elements and result using clear visual material or a practical video. You can send this via WhatsApp or WeTransfer. If something needs improvement, you receive feedback.
Can I also follow the course live?
Yes. Live training takes place in Joure, the Netherlands. You bring your own suitable model and perform the treatment under personal guidance. Regular live training is limited to a maximum of 3 students.
How much does the Teeth Whitening Course cost without a starter kit?
The course without a starter kit costs €499. The training component is offered VAT exempt through the CRKBO registration of X-treme Smile®.
Do I need to arrange my own model?
Yes. You need your own suitable model for the practical work. This applies to both the online practical assignment and live training in Joure.
How do I receive my certificate?
You receive the X-treme Smile® certificate after successfully completing the required theory and practical elements and after your practical work has been approved.
What happens if a practical element is not yet sufficient?
You receive feedback explaining what needs improvement. You can repeat the relevant element and submit it for reassessment without an additional assessment fee.
Do I need a starter kit?
Not if you already have suitable professional materials. If you want to start with a complete set-up, you can choose a Teeth Whitening starter kit with course.
Can I still ask questions after the course?
Yes. After completion, you can continue to contact X-treme Smile® with practical questions about whitening products, treatment techniques, whitening lamps, equipment and situations you encounter while working.
Can I offer professional teeth whitening after completing the course?
The X-treme Smile® certificate shows that you have successfully completed our course and the required practical assessment. Laws and regulations, permitted products, professional requirements and insurance conditions differ by country and situation. Always check the requirements that apply where you intend to work professionally.
